This reflection explores the wide spectrum of autism and the many emotions that come with it- joy, pride, worry, exhaustion, and hope. It acknowledges the value of acceptance and inclusion while also recognizing the real challenges some individuals and families face. The message is simple: all experiences and feelings are valid, and by holding space for each other, we can work together to reduce harm and increase quality of life for individuals with autism.
This Learning Disability Week, we are shining a light on what learning disabilities really are, how they impact families, and educators, and how early individualized support can empower children to thrive.
